I love this little pup!
He is such a sweet heart! I am so glad we have him! He has helped me get through some of the hardest times in my life! He is a very sensitive little guy- can always tell how you are feeling and when you need some serious cuddling! He LOVES it when "daddy" comes home from work! If I'm upstairs working when "daddy" comes home I just have to say "Daddy's home!" and he jumps up so fast and runs down stairs to greet "Dad". ;o> He LOVES to go for car rides, go to Grandma/Grandpa's house and go for walks. He loves his tennis ball, and I love that you just have to say "get your ball" and he will bring it and put it right in your hand. He loves playing "soccer" with the tennis ball and prefers the position of goalie. ;o> He knows the names for the majority of his toys! If you tell him to "go get Rocky", he will bring you "Rocky", as well as "ball", "squeaker", and "spike" and a few others. He gets so excited when Grandma or Grandpa or Oggie comes! He knows those names and gets REALLY excited! He also loves his Hoodie! I think it is so funny, but when you hold up his hoodie, he will put his head through the neck of the hoodie and lift his paws to put them through the sleeves. There have even been times that he brings me his hoodie to put on him! He LOVES being warm! He even has an electric blanket and when he's not "sun bathing", spends his day sleeping on the electric blanket. He also LOVES going for walks and freaks out when we pull his leash out! ;o>
He is so sweet and really good, but he has his funny quirks! He is a beagle and LOVES to bark! He will bark when you roll the window's up/down in the car, he barks when people walk by the windows and he barks at every move our bird, Lucky Bird, makes! (They like to harass each other!). And sometimes Dash will just bark for the heck of it! He barks at kids on bikes and scooter and pretty much anything with wheels- BUT he likes going for bike rides and does great running along side our bikes. He is protective, and will run up to just about anyone and bark like crazy at them. His bark is pretty loud and sounds SO tough- but he doesn't bite or attack anyone. He has separation anxiety and does NOT like to be left home alone. We went through years of him freaking out when we would leave, and find not so fun "presents" for us when we got home. We have since established a really good routine that helps him with that a lot! He is so neurotic, it's funny! When we go for walks, he will not walk on any metal grates! He will walk up and sniff at them, but will walk all the way around making sure not to touch the grates at all! We recently took him on a walk that took us over a sky walk near our home. There are metal slabs that connect the sky walk and Dash would NOT step on them. He would get really close, wait for us to get a little closer and then jump over the metal parts! It made us laugh harder and harder each time!
He loves his treats and loves his toys that we put his treats in that challenge him and keep him busy! He loves sleeping at the foot of our bed too- and we wake up to him sharing our pillows, snoring SO loud and crazy in between my hubby and I. He is really, REALLY smart and learns tricks pretty quick! He knows "sit", "down" (lay down), "shake", "roll" (rollover), "dance" and "speak". He knows these tricks just by telling him those commands AND/OR sign language. The one "trick" he refuses to learn is "stay"! LOL!!!
Dash used to be really good with other dogs, but he was once attacked by a wimeranner (sp?), and since then does not get along with bigger dogs. I must say he is getting better with is cousin Duke though! He has his favorite friends in the neighborhood too! He loves our back door neighbor's pup, Che', as well as a super cute poodle named Tally, and a really cute dog named Nappy! It's so fun to just let them off leash with his friends and watch them chase each other and play! It's SO cute! We joke that Dashe even has his imaginary friend "Gus". Usually around 10:00 pm, Dash gets these bursts of energy and he just tears up and down the stairs and through the rooms, and all over! If you even flinch that you're going to "get him" he takes off in a flash! It's SO funny and cute! Dash is also really good with kids! It makes me laugh when one of my best friends little 3 year old, Sophia, always asks her mom "What's Dash's mommy's name?" LOL!!! She will follow Dash around holding onto his tail and he just bounces along in his signature "beagle bounce".
There are so many fun and wonderful things we just love about our Dashie boy! He has brought a lot of love in our home and are SO happy we have him! Dogs are AWESOME!!!

I just love it when he tilts his head and looks at you so intently like he really understands what you're saying to him! We were asking him if he "went to Grandma's house last night". LOL! ;o>
